The Library

When you open the door, nothing but darkness and dust greet you. The hall is empty except for its shelves and the occassional dust bunny. Hopefully, those are the only critters exploring this place. When to open the curtains and windows, you turn to take in the sight.

"So much potential."

You roll up your sleeves and start with a thorough clean before you bring in any books.

After a good sweep, a mopping, and rearranging the furniture, the library was spotless. The mahogany wood of the shelves, warm of colour, felt cold. The sunlight only highlighted that the room lacked its function. What was a library without books after all?
